Englewood Christian Church offers a children’s nursery during regular church services attended by Montisorri teacher Mabel Torres. Mabel has 7 years of experience in early childhood education and also has 2 young children of her own. Games, crafts and quiet time are available in the nursery for infants and young children.
Children’s Church is held during the regular church services. Children are invited to the front of the sanctuary every Sunday for a thoughtful lesson about the coming sermon. Then they adjourn to the fireside room to reflect on the lesson with an art project, craft, skit or community service project with direction and assistance from the Sunday school teacher.
At Englewood Christian Church, children are welcome and encouraged to participate in all aspects of church services including candle lighting, communion, singing, scripture reading, special music and special performances.
After School Arts
Fun and Creativity come together. After School Arts is a program of Free Art Classes for children ages 7-14 every Tuesday 4:00-5:15 a Englewood Christian Church, running from the first week in October until the last week of May.
After School Arts is a free, non-faith based, community outreach program that brings local artists to teach arts and crafts to kids. Kids explore their creativity with classes in painting, drawing, clay, textiles and sculpture. Artists from Yakima, Tieton and Ellensburg teach in their respective mediums and are assisted by volunteers from Englewood Christian Church and the greater community. A healthy snack is provided. There is a juried art show at the end of the year as well as special events during the holidays. A one-time $20 donation per school year, per family is greatly apriciated.
If you would like to volunteer to assist or teach an art class or if you would like to donate art supplies, please contact us at (509) or send a message to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Every summer the Englewood Christian Church sends it’s youth to Peaceworks Summer Camps in Gwinwood, Lacey, Washington. The kids learn about Christ and being part of a bigger church body while making friends, swimming, crafting, singing and socializing.
The church also sponsors camping trips for church kids and their family and friends. Our recent trips have been to Lake Pend Orielle and Silverwood Theme Park in Idaho and Lake CleElum. It’s a great way to bond and relax with other church families.
