Building Policy for Englewood Christian Church
Englewood Christian Church desires to be a good steward of our building and resources and seeks to partner with individuals and community organizations who desire to use/rent our building space following the policy outlined below for the use of our space.
Defining building use/rental
The short-term use of Englewood Church for approved purposes not exceeding more than 24 occurrences in a calendar year.
Open and Inclusive Welcome in our Building
We ask that any individual, event, or organization that seeks to rent/use our building space respect the open and inclusive welcome statement that we have adopted for our building.
This means that discrimination against someone based on race, gender identity, sexuality, age, ability, nationality, citizenship status, or economic status will not be tolerated on our property.
We ask that all those who request/rent our space read and agree to respect our full welcome statement in Appendix 1 of this policy.
Prohibited Activities
To not jeopardize our tax-exempt status, we prohibit the use/rent of our building for the following activities:
Political Rallies for specific candidate(s) or political party
Events where specific political candidates/policies are endorsed
The sale of goods/services
Building Usage/Rental Approval
The Pastor shall approve all building use requests and rental applications. They will work with the Church Administrator to secure signed agreements on all events held at Englewood Christian Church, maintain a building use calendar, and detailed receipts of rental fees/deposits/donations for space usage.
The Pastor shall provide a quarterly report on building usage to Vision Council.
If a group seeks to use the building more than 24 times in a calendar year the application must be presented to Vision Council for approval.
