3-9-25 Announcements
Good afternoon everyone,
Today at our weekly worship service, we discussed how hard change is. If you were not able to join us in person today, you can watch today’s service back on our Facebook page or YouTube channel.
I want to open up a couple of opportunities to process changes as it relates to Englewood. I am going to be hosting two Zoom discussions so that you can join from the comfort of your home to talk about our Wide Welcome Initative and any questions or concerns that you might have about this effort. I chose to host these conversations over zoom to make them as accessible as possible to people who work, travel, or live further away from the church. The first of these Zoom times will be this coming Tuesday, March 11th at 6:30 PM.
Email Pastor Christie for the Link to the Zoom meeting.
Here are the announcements we shared this morning:
VolunTeens next Saturday at the Arboretum from 8 AM- Noon to help with the Pulling of the Greens. Anyone that is interested can come and join. Please let Christie know that you plan to attend so that we can coordinate meeting at the Arboretum that day.
Our monthly Breakfast is next Saturday at 8 AM at the church. You can sign up at the Welcome Desk or by clicking here.
Vision Council voted this week to approve Englewood Christian Church signing the Yakima Valley Interfaith Statement on Immigration. There are copies of this statement on the welcome desk and you can sign one as an individual and give it to Christie to have your name added as well. You can also read the statement and sign it online by clicking here. If you questions about this statement or how to get involved in this work, see Christie or Sandi.
Website Update
There is a new password protected section of our website that has links to our digital church directory, our hospitality teams (Clusters), and recordings of our Wide Welcome Initative Learning events. You can find this section of our website by clicking on ECC Connections on the homepage of our website.
Then clicking on the button that says ECC Faith Community Login.
This will bring you a login page. You can call the church office to get the password for this page.
Also this week:
This was the first Sunday of our 40 Cans in 40 days food drive. I applogize that I moved the can collection from it’s traditional area and if that caused confusion today. We will be working on creating a new collection area in the Narthex going forward for the rest of this effort. All cans donated at Englewood will be going to the Rotary Food Bank at the end of Lent.
Bob Chicken shared during service that there will be a local event coming up for local poets to share writings about trees. If you have a poem to share, you can reach out to Bob for more details.
Joys and Concerns:
There were no public joys or concerns shared during service today. However, we would ask that you continue to keep Karlene Jacobs in your prayers, she is recovering from a fall a couple of weeks ago.
Also, please be praying for the family and friends of Sue Johnson, a local pilot and retired member of the medical community who passed away in a small, single-engine plane crash early this past week.

As always, if there is ever anything that I can do to support you during the week, please reach out!
